Individual Membership

Individual membership is $25.00 annually. Individual member benefits includes:

  • Membership card
  • Commemorative WEKAF USA lapel pin
  • WEKAF discount of $5.00 at all WEKAF regional and national tournaments. Possible discounts at various local WEKAF members school tournaments as well
  • WEKAF discount of 10% off all martial arts equipment from our sponsored equipment provider - Spargear
  • Membership runs on the calendar year, January 1 to December 31.
  • Fees is $25.00 annually for an individual.
  • Fees are not prorated for those signing up late in the year.
  • Fees must be received no later than March 31st . If fees are paid after that date, the following penalty schedule will apply.
    • Received from Apr. - Jun.: Amount due: $30.00 ($25.00 + $ 5.00 penalty)
    • Received from Jul. - Sept.: Amount due: $35.00 ($25.00 + $10.00 penalty)
    • Received from Oct. - Dec. Amount due: $40.00   ($25.00 + $15.00 penalty)
    • All first time members pay the $25.00 fee  - no penalty

School Membership

School membership is $50.00 annually. School member benefits including the following:

  • School membership certificate
  • Discount on Tournament and Seminar insurance thru WEKAF USA
  • School profile and information page on the WEKAF USA website
  • Free posting of your school’s events on the WEKAF USA website
  • Events information emailed to our WEKAF members
  • Membership runs on the calendar year, January 1 to December 31.

Use of Fees

  • National fees help fund the biannual national championships and defray costs of U.S. participation in the world tournament.
  • Regional fees are designated to promote regional tournaments and promotion of WEKAF at regional levels. 
    • This use could include equipment, in which case said equipment belongs to a region, and must be turned over to the new director when one is appointed.
  • The income from membership fees is distributed as follows:
    • 25% to the World organization in the Philippines
    • 50% to the National organization
    • 25% to the Region in which the member resides

 

Use of WEKAF Name

  • WEKAF is a registered name.  Permission from the Regional Director is required to use it in conjunction with any event, i.e. tournament, seminars, etc.
  • A portion of any fees collected at an event using the WEKAF name shall go to the National organization, WEKAF USA.  Fees should be agreed on with the Regional Director prior to the event.  If the Regional Director sponsors the event, the WEKAF portion will be discussed and agreed upon with the US Director. 
  • To advertise as a WEKAF school, or to use the name WEKAF in any advertising for a school or method of training or instruction, you must:
    • Be a current WEKAF member (member in good standing)
    • Have a WEKAF school membership ($50.00 annually, of which $15 is returned to the region and $35 to WEKAF USA)
  • Use of the WEKAF name and/or logo shall not be allowed without the above conditions being met.

  

Responsibilities of Officers

  • To be any WEKAF officer, on any level, you must maintain your membership in good standing. 
  • All officers are expected to keep records of and provide receipts for all WEKAF monies spent, and to provide these records to WEKAF officials at the National and World level upon request.
  • WEKAF Regional Directors will be appointed by US Director after conferring with senior WEKAF members, past directors, etc.
  • US Director will be chosen by majority vote of regional directors prior to or at the WEKAF World Championships  (Regional Directors or their representation)
  • Regional Directors can provide state directors (by appointment or voting)
  • Regional and National Directors are authorized to designate (or delegate) officers (Secretary, Treasurer,) as long as those officers are current WEKAF members. 
  • Regional Directors are responsible for
    • the promotion of WEKAF in their respective region including collection of individual, school, and event fees, and forwarding of the above to WEKAF USA.
    • Coordinating/promoting and approving any WEKAF sanctioned events.
    • Coordinating at least one WEKAF regional tournament bi-annually in preparation for each world championship.
    • Verifying that WEKAF rules are followed within their regions, and providing notifications to WEKAF USA of any infractions
    • Regional Directors are responsible for keeping the US Director advised of all WEKAF events in their area.
  • US Director (WEKAF USA) is responsible for
    • collection and disbursement of WEKAF fees to and from Regional Directors.
    • authorizing and approving new regions.
    • maintaining bank account and managing government reporting and taxes.
    • helping to coordinate the dates of the regional tournaments and coordinating the national championship at least every other year in preparation for the world championships.
    • keeping regional directors informed of information regarding regional, national, and world championships and events.
    • providing current membership status to regional directors.
